Why Your Herb Deserves Better Than a Plastic Bag
Most stash jar solutions are an afterthought. Thin plastic, loose lids, zero UV protection — they let your herb dry out, lose potency, and smell up everything around them. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar was engineered from the ground up to solve every one of those problems.
Whether you’re storing a fresh half ounce from your last dispensary run or preserving a premium batch for a special occasion, this is the weed storage container built for people who actually care about quality.
- Shatter-resistant construction — durable borosilicate glass designed for everyday use
- BPA-free, food-safe materials — clean, dependable storage for your flower
- Built for long-term storage — helps protect freshness, aroma and quality over time
- Precision compression seal — creates a secure closure that helps minimize unwanted air exposure
UV-Blocking Glass: The Feature Most Stash Jars Skip
UV light is one of the fastest ways to degrade cannabinoids and terpenes — the compounds responsible for potency and flavor. Most standard glass jars offer zero protection against it.
The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar is a weed container that uses UV-blocking borosilicate glass that filters out harmful light wavelengths before they ever reach your herb. The result? Fresher smell. Richer flavor. Longer shelf life.
The UV-protected airtight glass design is also ideal for storing kief and other dry cannabis materials. If you’ve ever opened a jar after a few weeks and found your herb has lost that distinct aroma, UV degradation was likely the culprit. Learn why UV protection is one of the five signs of a failing stash jar. This smell proof weed jar eliminates that problem entirely.
Airtight Seal That Actually Holds
A truly airtight weed container isn’t just about keeping smells in — it’s about keeping oxygen and humidity out. Oxidation is silent and fast, and it destroys freshness before you even notice.
The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar features a lab-grade silicone gasket seal that creates a hermetic closure every single time. No half-turns, no guessing — just a clean, confident lock that preserves your herb exactly as you left it. If you’re serious about storage, see how it stacks up in our roundup of the best smell proof containers for weed.
Half Ounce Capacity: The Sweet Spot
At half ounce (14g) capacity, the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar hits the storage sweet spot — large enough for a real supply, compact enough to stay discreet in a drawer, shelf, or bag.
Compared to bulkier weed storage containers, the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar doesn’t sacrifice portability. And unlike smaller options, you’re not constantly restocking.
Designed to Lock Odors in
This isn’t “smell resistant.” It’s smell proof. The combination of the airtight silicone seal and dense UV glass creates a complete odor barrier. No lingering smells on your shelf. No awkward moments. Nothing escaping that shouldn’t.
For anyone who’s dealt with a leaky smell proof container that wasn’t actually smell proof — this is the upgrade.
If you’re searching for a stash jar that’s smell proof, the seal is what matters most. The Keefer Onyx uses a silicone gasket and non-porous glass construction to help prevent odor from escaping when properly closed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar actually smell proof?
Yes — completely. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar uses a hermetic silicone gasket seal that creates a true odor barrier, not just odor resistance. It functions as a fully odor-proof herb container, meaning no scent escapes when the lid is properly closed. Many “smell proof” containers on the market use loose-fitting lids that still allow odor to seep out. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar doesn’t. See how to test if your current container is actually smell proof.
How long does the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar keep herb fresh?
When sealed properly, the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar maintains freshness for 6 months or more. The combination of UV-blocking glass and the sealed cannabis container design eliminates the two biggest causes of freshness loss — light exposure and oxidation. Humidity control packs (like Boveda) can be added inside for even longer preservation.
What makes UV glass better for herb storage?
UV light breaks down cannabinoids and terpenes — the compounds that give your herb its potency and aroma. A standard clear glass jar offers no protection against this. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar UV-blocking glass filters out harmful wavelengths, making it one of the best herb preservation jar for preserving quality over time. Studies on botanical preservation consistently show UV-blocking containers significantly extend shelf life compared to clear alternatives.
What capacity is the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar?
The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar holds a half ounce (14 grams) of herb — the most common dispensary purchase size. It’s the ideal smell proof weed stash jar for keeping a fresh supply on hand without the bulk of larger containers.
Is this a good airtight weed container for long-term storage?
It’s one of the best stash jars for weed on the market for long-term use. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar was specifically designed as an cannabis storage solution for storage periods well beyond what typical jars support. The seal doesn’t weaken over time, and the UV glass maintains its protective properties indefinitely.
How does the Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar compare to a regular Mason jar?
A Mason jar is a decent general-purpose container, but it falls short as a weed storage container for a few key reasons: it offers zero UV protection, its lid seal degrades quickly, and it’s not engineered for odor containment. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar addresses all three with UV-blocking glass, a lab-grade silicone gasket, and a true smell proof container design built specifically for herb storage. For a full breakdown, see our glass stash jar vs Mason jar for weed comparison.
Is the glass safe and non-toxic?
Yes. The Keefer Onyx™ Stash Jar is made from BPA-free, food-safe borosilicate glass. No plastics, no coatings, nothing that can leach into your herb. It’s the same class of glass used in scientific and culinary applications.
Can I use this as a kief jar?
Yes. The airtight seal and UV-protective glass design make it suitable for storing kief while helping protect freshness and quality.
